This book shows how the National Socialist State provided a veneer of normality to its militant racist indoctrination of German youth - and how it achieved it primarily by absorbing and 'coordinating' the groups and youth leadership already in place. The chilling aspect is that it all happened so quickly (within very few years of Hitler taking power) and with very little resistance from ordinary citizens. Knopp uses interviews with Germans who lived through those times to bring the story to life and to illustrate this themes: seduction, submission, bloodstock, war and sacrifice. It is this last which demonstrates how hollow was Hitler's vision for Germany's youth when many tens of thousands of children ended up being sent to a senseless death in the dying months and weeks of the Third Reich. If nothing else, this book highlights how easy it is to subvert the natural exhuberance and enthusiasm of youth to any end, even if it is self-destructive. Knopp's writing style is easy to read and I found myself drawn on to find out what happened to these children-turned under-age warriors in the final devastation of the Nazi empire. --By J. H. M. Dr Guido Knopp is head of history and current affairs at ZDF, Germany's second national television channel, and has received numerous awards for his documentaries and texts. "Unwelcome Indoctrination of Youth"

"Hitler's Children", Guido Knopp, UK, Sutton Pub., 2002 ISBN 0-7509-2732-1, HC, 284 pgs., & 6 pg. Index, 9 1/2" x 6 1/4".

Formerly "Hitler's Kinder", Munich, auf Deutsche 2000, it is an arrant discourse on the education of German children of Nazi regimine. There are 30 excellent B/W photos plus 7 page Intro. which follows the education/educational systems for German youth growing up in the 1930's & 1940's. Details are provided in 5 provocatively titled chapters: - 1-Seduction, 2-Submission, 3-Bloodstock, 4-War, & 5-Sacrifice.

A child, in 1936, at age 10 was seduced into Jungvolk (girls as Jungmaedel) & after training "graduated", earning sheath knife engraved "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" as official "Deutsches Jungvolk". Annually, new crops of ten-year-olds were dedicated to the Fueherer on his birthday, April 20th. At ages 14-18 lads joined Hitlerjugend (HJ) as Hitler Youths overseen by Baldur von Schurach, whilst girls entered Bund Deutscher Maeder (BDM), League of German Lasses. In 1937 Adolph Hitler Schools, under Robert Ley & Schurach, were devised along with special colleges, Ordensburgen.

This book used more than 1000 interviews, & contains many quotations from populace living at the time. The methodology of applied propaganda was eerily assimilated by youth, moreso than parents, - it involved using simple Boy Scout tactics (hiking, camping & campfires, singing, chanting) & athletic competitions;

pseudo-religious allegiances; instilling fear of hostile countries that pillaged, raped, etc.; & dangers of polluted blood lines (Jews, Gypsies, etc.) & attraction of uniforms, insignia, ribbons, flags, parades, marching bands & hierarchy of heroes.

Allegiance was instilled to Fueherer, Volk & Vaterland (Leader - People - Nation) as national socialism along lines of "Father - Son - & Holy Ghost". Progressively, religion was replaced by nationalism (holidays, etc.). Teachings were three-fold at Hitler schools: 5 years spent on character building & racial philosophy, 2 years in military or labor services, & a few years in specialized teachings as administration, diplomacy, etc. Only the "fittest" were chosen & promoted, a pyramidal selection: - some were trained to command in the new German World Empire as military commanders or Gauleiter.

Closure of WW2 saw progressive decimation of tens of thousands of German youths, ages 10 to 16, in the blitzkriegs & front lines ever worsening to the final days of Nazi defeat & Hitler's death on April 30, 1945 (suicide by cyanide & SIGSW to head). The book is somewhat choppy, has minor flaws instilled with translation, a few repititions & redundancies only apparent on careful reading. It is a good read, well indexed.

Good introduction to the principles of quality management

We are using this book for a quality management class I'm taking. I feel it is a good introduction to the principles of quality management. It is a fairly short book (268 pages) so it's easily covered in a single semester and it is an easy read. But it still covers the material needed to understand the basics of quality.

Like prevision edition - excellent and informative!

WP and routes information very good.

Before we start our trip - we present for friends more than 200kg of paper books and change all to ebooks, but if ask me - what book I leave if can't find electronic analog - this one of them!

Just need change some color and fonts - and I ready re-rate to 7 :-)

Meet Bad Boy Robert Stone!

A good start to a new mini-series. Allison Shepard has just found herself demoted to a smaller advertising account because her last sales pitch fell flat. Allison had worked hard to climb up the ranks but one man ruined it all, Robert Stone.

Robert Stone has an over inflated ego, on top of his superiority complex. The man is truly an 'ass', nevertheless a hot ass. Robert had recently ended a relationship with a submissive, who turned out to be 'obnoxiously greedy'. He's ready for a real, challenging woman who may also be a potential sub. He gets his wish on a trip to Vegas, where he meets the woman from who he plucked away his last advertising conquest, Allison Shepard.

I really liked that the story is written in both POV's because get to know both characters. Robert Stone is a prick, although he is a good son who takes care of his mother. He comes across as an 'ass' with a major superiority complex. Robert has begun to realize he needs more, a real relationship, a challenging woman. Allison is conflicted, her life maybe at a turning point. I'm can't wait to read what will happen next. These two are destined for drama!

This is normally something I wouldn't read until fully published because 1. not a fan of cliffhangers and 2. way too short

BUT, Cynthia Sharon asked for my honest opinion sooooo stay tuned ...

OK...so here's the skinny *snickers* ... Cynthia Sharon has potential. There's obvious edit problems that bug me because she probably paid well to have this edited but that never influences my reviews. What does influence it is the writing style, the development, and overall voice of the story.

This wasn't perfect, in my opinion, the kiss was like reading a boy coming up to a girl in the school hall and stealing a kiss ...awkward lol and the orgasm felt out of place ... like it was just written in there with no lead to it, again awkward.

But I'll tell you what was good ... her development of not only the story (so far) and both Allison and Robert. I know where this is going, so that's a good sign. I don't know how it's going to get there, also a good sign because it makes it not predictable in a trope that's been done a thousand times before...hopefully all you future readers will understand what I'm trying to tell ya there LOL
The best part so far is the POV. It's in both Robert's and Allison's so I get to experience them both (always a plus) and Cynthia Sharon made sure I knew exactly who they were. She developed both Allison and Robert perfectly and told me just enough about each of them to hook me into ... cannot WAIT to read more ... that's potential kids.

SO one-click this installment ... it's not a full story, but you'll be hooked ;) #TRUST

A Very Entertaining Read - Well Done! Why Is This NOT a Best Seller Yet?!!

So my friend told me about this book. To be honest, this isn't my usual read... but I went ahead and bought it.

Ok, so let me just say... it's really good!

I have to warn you... don't start reading this book until you have enough time to read the entire thing. You won't want to put it down. It took me less than an hour... I felt like I was watching a movie.

Being that this is a short book, the author did surprisingly well in developing each character. The dialog was very natural and the story flowed really easily.

It was a very entertaining story. But I'm mad at the author... why? Because she left me wanting MORE!!! UGH! Now I have to go buy all her books! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Seriously everyone, the ebook is like a dollar! This is a really well done book... I believe the author needs to charge more for this quality work. Just please don't raise the price until AFTER I've bought them all. haha! I have no idea why this book isn't on Amazon's best seller list. It should be... truly a hidden gem.

I am now officially a fan of Cynthia Sharon.
